Mission : To collate the weight information of Sealed Switch Games.

Why : To help with their authentication.

Starting : Today, Thursday September 4th 2025

Background : I am a Nintendo Switch game collector, and buy a lot from Amazon.

This week I ordered many Switch games from Amazon UK.

I ordered 2 copies of Snow Brothers Wonderland for the Nintendo Switch.

I also ordered 2 copies of Prince of Persia which arrived in the same package.

All copies were the standard editions.

Upon opening the package I was concerned to see that the packaging for both Snow Bros games was frayed down the right hand side, although the main wrappers were still intact. I can be a fussy collector, but would have lived with this but for the fact when I held it up to the light there was no cartridge visible in either game.

The Prince of Persia games were fine, and the package was handed to me by the Amazon delivery driver, and it was secure, no loose flaps etc.

Therefore my conclusion was that they had been stolen, and the theft had happened somewhere in the supply chain before it had been put put in the box for final delivery.

To be clear I am not accusing Amazon warehouse staff of doing this, because there are various steps/hands in the chain from the manufacturer to an Amazon warehouse.

I will be sorting this out with Amazon and will get back to this blog with the results

This is the first time it has happened to me but I have see Amazon review posts for different games where buyers have experienced empty game cases.

Holding up to the light will usually reveal whether a cartridge is in the case or not, but weight information should be an aid to authentication, especially because some scammers replace the cartridge with tokens.

Of course there can be many factors influencing weight, but it should be possible to come up with a database with accepted tolerances.

Nothing is 100% foolproof but to replace a cartridge with a token of exact weight is not so easy, but let's see how this goes.

The Journey begins....More details coming tomorrow.
